What's the Story?

The Day-Release Programme allows for both currently employed kitchen staff members and private individuals to train and develop as Cooks in a cost-efficient and structured manner while working. With only a 2-day per month mini Block Release module, the Theoretical and Practical components of the qualification as outlined herein, is covered.

 

The programme allows dedicated people wishing to excel in the field of Professional Cookery the opportunity to obtain top quality work experience, theoretical knowledge and a recognised qualification whilst performing functions in a working kitchen environment.

 

This programme is therefore ideal for all levels of Cooks and Junior Chefs within Kitchen Brigades, or private individuals wishing to broaden their skills.

 

English literacy and basic numeracy is essential to the successful completion of this Certificate Programme.

Skills & Requirements

– Own uniform – White chef’s jacket, black or chef’s trousers (no denim), white or black apron, chef’s hat, black non-slip closed shoes (no trainers). – Own knives (basic chef’s knife, paring knife and peeler essential). – Basic stationery and calculator. – Logged working hours in a professional kitchen: 100 hours
